Food the way it used to be
in a way never done before

in a way never done before

Up until 1946, nearly 50% of produce in America was grown in home gardens. Nowadays almost all of the food on our plates comes from a handful of industrial farms.

We're building a neighbor-to-neighbor marketplace, using the internet to enable people to buy and sell food grown from their own porches, backyards, and pastures.

Locavores

Locavores are individuals who buy and eat
food sourced from their own community

Buying on Food From Friends helps them to:

  • improve their local economy
  • know who their food comes from
  • lessen their environmental impact

so you can search our local offerings of fresh, homegrown food.

Local Growers

Local Growers are individuals who produce food for their
community at some scale — small, medium, or large

Selling on Food From Friends helps them to:

  • earn income from their produce
  • provide for their neighbors
  • keep surplus from becoming waste

so you can list your food with us and let the hungry people come.
